I have tried to lose weight, with no luck. I knew I had to change.

I was in a rut.

I would go to work, go home, and sit––do nothing but watch TV and eat whatever I wanted.

My health was going downhill fast. I went to Hawaii for my honeymoon and had to buy an extra seat because I was so big and overweight. I couldn’t do much of anything because I was always tired.

I had to do something.

One day, my daughter asked me to come to Blast Fitness with her.  Even though I didn’t want to go, I did.

They were just starting a challenge and I figured, what the heck, I’ll give it a try. It was hard at first. Some nights I just wanted to go home and sit on the couch. I had to get my husband to understand that I was doing this for me; he didn’t like being alone all the time. I couldn’t give it up; it is like a GOOD drug––you can’t get enough!

I took first place in the challenge by losing 30 pounds in six weeks. I was pumped. I loved the change in my body and how I felt.

I’ve won every one of the challenges since. I’ve lost 60-plus pounds and 50-plus inches. I’ve gained friends, fun, confidence, courage, strength, and a great looking body. Best of all, I weigh less than my daughter, my grandson, and my husband! I have more energy than ever before. I feel like I can do anything!

My friends and family have seen the difference. My grandkids can how hug me and reach all the way around me, and that makes me feel good. My health is much better. I’m trying to jog now. I feel great, look great. I have more energy and love to play with the grandkids.

I can’t give up now. Forty more pounds and I reach my senior year weight––my goal for this year. I know I can do it, I just have to stay focused and not let anyone or anything distract me.

Audrey, the owner of Blast, has been a positive reinforcement to me and I am forever grateful to her. My daughters were my biggest fans. They went with me, stayed with me and supported me. I owe my husband a lot, for allowing me to be away from him for so long. Molly Green at Whirlpool supported me by giving me compliments and encouragement.

I feel like I can live to be a hundred now. I know that life is more enjoyable and more meaningful. I look forward to going to workout and being part of a good support team. I love encouraging others to come and start  working out.

I challenge everyone to come with me for just one class and feel the encouragement. You’ll see what stepping out of your comfort zone can do for you!

I want to do the five 5K’s I have signed up for this year. I want to reach my weight goals. I want to keep working out, keep eating healthy––keep doing this for me!
