I had gained 30 pounds in just a few years. It was time for a change.
I was already overweight. Then I had had four children in eleven years. I never really lost the 30 pounds I gained with the first two kids, and I’d stopped exercising regularly. Recently, I developed high blood pressure and my biometric screening was not good. I was possibly going to need medicine to help control my blood pressure and cholesterol. So it was time for a change.
I started eating healthier and counting calories. Then I started exercising. My family and friends all supported me. I also took part in a health challenge to keep me motivated. I have lost weight, have more energy, and am teaching my kids that eating right and exercising are important. It has made my life better. I am at a weight I have not been at in 10 years.
I am happier and feel better. And my goal is to compete in a 5K!
My advice? Don’t over do it. Just take it one day at a time and remember, this is a lifestyle change.
