My weight was more and more of an issue. I decided to get help.
I have had trouble losing weight most of my adult life. I had achy joints. I was unable to bend and sit comfortably. Upon rising in the morning, it took some time to work the kinks and stiffness out of my joints. My feet hurt, my knees hurt and I had a general feeling of malaise. My clothes were tight and I felt unattractive. I had a sinking feeling that eventually I might not be able to take the walks I enjoyed in my back woods.
A friend who was dealing with some health issues told me about a natural physician who determined her blood type and genetic makeup, then designed a diet that would help her body’s cells become healthier. My friend said “She helped save my life!” That’s when I went to see my physician, Jackie, and learned about the genetic program called SWAMI.
I discovered I’d been eating things all my life that were not good for me, such as wheat products, corn and dairy. Under the program, I could eat beef, chicken, turkey, fish and most vegetables. I have now stuck with this six-month diet for three months. My knees no longer hurt, I’ve lost 20 lbs., and my eyes are clearer.
Overall, I have a better feeling about myself. I have more energy and so on.
My husband has been my biggest supporter. We are both the same blood type, so much of what I eat is compatible with his eating.
I think it’s a shame that medicine has not implemented more of the truths about blood type and genetics in diet as an alternative to quick prescription fixes. I would advise anyone to read “Eat for Your Type,” then check out SWAMI. Learn what is good for you and what isn’t.
My job at Whirlpool requires me to meet the public, so I’m always looking for ways to improve my stamina and my approach to living. After completing my six month plan, my goal is to have this evolve into a lifelong way of eating and exercising.
